Director's Profile
Peg Snider is PDX Spanish's Director and principal interpreter. She grew up in Latin
America (Mexico, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic) and has been speaking Spanish since the age of 6.
- BA, International Relations, UCLA 1982
- Certificate of Translation and Interpretation, UCLA 1986
- Certified as Spanish language court interpreter, State of California 1986
- Certified as Spanish language court interpreter United States District Court 1993
- Extensive work throughout the Los Angeles Superior and Municipal Courts from 1986 to 1999
- Oregon Judicial Department Staff Interpreter, State of Oregon 1999 to 2000
- Extensive work throughout the Federal Court system since 1994
Ms. Snider founded PDX Spanish in 2000 and is currently working on assignments in State and
Federal Court, in addition to work with a number of private clients. She has received training
in cross-cultural communication and mediation in the Hispanic community. She is also a volunteer
mediator at Resolutions Northwest, and has completed orientation for Multnomah County small
claims mediation.
